Looks like ghee is a go! Okay I may be jumping the gun just a little on that, it has only been 24 hours, and I only ate it twice. Today I'll eat it three times and see what happens. But I haven't had a single reaction to it and that excites me! Perhaps grass fed dairy will be okey dokey with my gut, and wouldn't that be nice.
Tomorrow hubby and I are going kayaking with some friends who were kind enough to borrow kayaks for us because we don't have our own. We've never tried it outside of the little lagoon we kayaked in Hawaii, and that was years ago. It was fun but we had a two man and we (OOPS) went under the bridge into the ocean where I had a near panic attack (not a fan of the ocean, thank you very much - I love to look at it but I don't want to be in it!) and it took us a bit of wrangling to get the damn thing turned around, so we never tried that again. Oh sure, we talked about doing some ocean kayaking on clear mornings when the water was as smooth as glass, but I simply don't have the balls. Or intestinal fortitude, I guess I should say, since I've had such GI woes since childhood, ha and ha.
I'm the only boss in the office today so it will likely be a let's-close-up-early kind of day. There isn't much going on project wise, we're in some holding patterns at this time and awaiting new work, so I say let's take advantage of that while the taking is good.
It's almost 8, time to start work officially, and I'm hungry, so I'm out.
OH! Wait, I owesk. The lozenges that Dr. Jessica sold me for my breath (and just good health, I guess: they're called Thieves. They consist of a blend of lemon peel oil, clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus, rosemary and peppermint. They're good, if not a bit strong, and they sure did kick out my garlic breath.
OH OH! One more thing. I put one jar of fermented cabbage into the fridge last night as it should be done, but I also threw one out that didn't ferment but smelled like feet. I ain't eating feet. I tamped down the big jar of brussel sprouts with apple, it stinks too, but at least it's bubbling. The last jar is only a week old and I'm leaving it totally alone, it has cabbage and golden beets. It's gorgeous! I hope it tastes good. I need to work on my fermenting methods and skills. I also probably need to move my operation center to the basement as I think it may be too warm in the kitchen. We don't usually have the AC on, so it routinely gets up to 75-78 in the house. The highest temp fermenting goods should reach is 70. It may yet turn out that I have no viable ferments in the cupboard... I will move the remainder of them downstairs this evening.
