Paleo AIP Day #19 - Fennel Seed Introduction

Friday July 24th, 2015

Today is an introduction day! It occurs to me that I should label these days in the title, along with what I'm introducing. So let it be thought, so let it be done. Aaaaaand done.

Fennel seed, I confess, has been slipped in quite by accident already (by hubby). I had no reaction, but it's worth doing the real test on. Morning introduction commencing; I have ingested the stuff, time to watch for reaction. 

I'm nearly out of all my foods that I make on Sunday for the work week; I was a little shy on veg this AM and had to substitute coconut water kefir for fermented veg as I only have enough left for lunch. Not that there's anything wrong with a sub, far from it! I love the kefir and it's better with breakfast anyway, but it's expensive so I try to keep it to a minimum (and no, I don't want to make my own, it's a giant pain in the ass and nearly impossible for someone with a job - the instructions I've read all say to check every few hours during fermentation to avoid explosions - no thanks). 

Hubby and I are playing hooky this afternoon, sneaking away to the mountain (when I say "the mountain" I mean Pikes Peak, by the way) to break in our new kayaks. Raven will be taking her maiden voyage! We're really looking forward to it and praying that the weather holds out and it doesn't rain. It's very cloudy up there right now but the weather on the mountain changes constantly. Fingers crossed please!

Tomorrow I head to the airport at o-dark-thirty to catch my flight to Madison! I'm already packed and will have to locate a small, soft sided cooler to transport my refrigerated meds; I checked the TSA website and it says that this is allowed, as long as the meds are labelled. No sweat, can do, but still need the cooler. I wonder if that counts as one of my carry on bags? Hmmm...

It hadn't actually occurred to me how many meds I need to take with me, holy cat crap. I'm just going to put them all in the cooler even though most of them don't require refrigeration. I have some powders, some liquids and tons of pills. Tons. Yay. Or maybe, just maybe! I can to without them for a couple of days. I'll check with Dr. Jessica. I will have all of my supplements and vitamins that don't require refrigeration already in pill organizers, so that shouldn't be an issue.


Weight: 147 - plateau 2 lbs shy of the goal weight much???
Energy level: Great!
BM: Yes, and I already know there will be more

Mental clarity: Great!
Mood: Great!
Exercise: Sneaked a little walk around the block in with my work wife, will be getting more this afternoon!
